At CRIO, we’re committed to continuous improvement, ensuring that our technology evolves alongside the needs of clinical research professionals. We’re excited to introduce a refreshed design for our core eSource system, featuring various quality-of-life UI updates, enhanced subject log oversight, and backend improvements that lay the foundation for future innovations.

What’s New?

Improved Subject Logs – Updates to subject logs include a new area of the ‘Subjects’ tab at a study level that lets users track completion status, standardized language/formatting for various procedure questions, and more.

UI Updates – This release includes a number of quality-of-life improvements:

  • Responsive data collection that adapts to different screen sizes
  • Option to edit draft progress notes directly in data collection
  • New, improved date and time picker
  • Dropdown option for single-select questions
  • And more!

Future-Proofed Technology – A backend upgrade enables greater interoperability and lays the groundwork for ongoing enhancements.

What This Means for Your Existing Studies

This refresh will not automatically update existing studies. If you’re currently running a study, nothing will change. This means that all of your existing studies, or studies that you are currently creating, won’t be updated with these new designs/features. This ensures a smooth transition and allows teams to explore the enhancements at their own pace. In the future, we will provide an opportunity for you to roll your existing studies over to the updated design.

Rolling Out to New Studies

Moving forward, all new studies created on or after June 10th, 2025 will feature these updates. Updated training materials and Academy Courses are also available in the CRIO Help Center.
